• The patient is seen: The consulting practice immediately receives the referral request and with a click can see all of the patient information that the referring physician included. Once the consulting provider finishes the consult evaluation, they use the Allscripts Referral Network integrated with their EHR to electronically send pertinent medical and referral information back to the referring physician.
• The patient’s record is updated in the EHR: The referring practice immediately receives notification that the consult report is back. They can open the report and see all of the relevant patient and referral information. After review and acceptance, it’s all added to the patient’s electronic record.
